On June 21, the Hands Off Iran, Hands Off Gaza protest marched from Franklin Square to the White House to protest Israeli actions in Gaza and Iran and US support for them. The protest included the Palestinian Youth Movement and Party of Socialism and Liberation. Amongst the protesters was also the Nuterei Karta, a group of Orthodox Jews who have protested Israel and its actions in Gaza and elsewhere.

“We’re here to show what real Judaism is, versus what the state of Israel does,” said Rubin, one member of the Nuterei Karta group. “We are in divine exile,” he continued, “The crimes of Israel is not what Judaism demands.”
Another of the participants, Rabbi Dovid Feldman noted “Not all Jews agree with the state of Israel … [Wel want the world to know the crimes against Iran and Palestine is incorrect.”

Asked what they hope would ultimately result from their protest, Rubin said “the state of Israel dismantled.”

During the protest, shouts of “Intifada or revolution,” “Free, free Palestine,” “Israel is a terrorist state,” and “Judaism yes, Zionism no, the state of Israel must go” rang out as the protesters marched to gather outside the White House. At the White House, speakers addressed the crowd, again stating that Zionism is not Judaism while demanding that all US aid to Israel cease and that Israel be dismantled.
